NavSim’s aid to navigation monitoring and control solutions for port and waterway infrastructure includes a wide range of products designed specifically to increase the effectiveness and minimise maintenance costs of the maritime infrastructure such as buoys, lighthouses leads, signal lights and other types of aid to navigation.
Buoys
Is the buoy still on position? What is its battery level? You don’t need to send a technician to know that. With NavSim control and monitoring system you will not only know everything about your buoys but you will also be able to effectively control them.
Lighthouses
The vendor-independent monitoring of lighthouses provides the operator with information about current operation status, battery voltage and other relevant information regarding the lighthouse. Among other things, the operator can schedule operational modes and/or manually steer the lighthouse.
Leading lights
Leading lights are crucial indicators of safe passage for vessels. Our GPS-based synchronisation and management microcontroller ensures that they always flash in sync and provides the operator with day-to-day maintained tools, including automatic changes in intensity and health status of each LED.
Range lights
The correct functioning of the of all active range lights is crucial for safe passage With NavSim solution you will be able to integrate every existing station into to your monitoring and control system.
Other assets
Our engineers and developers can turn any element of your port, harbour and waterway infrastructure into a smart object – with remote monitoring and control. They call us the blacksmiths of the marine – a title we earned proving our usefulness in delivering out-of-the box and reliable products
Minimal power consumption
Our monitoring products are designed in a way to minimise needs for power. As a result, the average power consumption for the SBMS microcontroller with AtoN Type 3 module is just 22mA (with performance updates at 10 minutes intervals; with wider intervals the power consumption would have been even smaller). Flash synchronisation
Our monitoring products are designed in a way to minimise needs for power. As a result, the average power consumption for the SBMS microcontroller with AtoN Type 3 module is just 22mA (with performance updates at 10 minutes intervals; with wider intervals the power consumption would have been even smaller).
Besides managing and monitoring functionalities, our solution provides also synchronisation of independently flashing lanterns. The GPS flash synchronisation will keep all your lights working in unision clearly marking waterways, entrances to channels, harbours and other areas. The synchronisation process is fully automated and does not require any human intervention.
Always the right fit
Whatever you need to monitor, we have you covered. You can use our control and monitoring system for maritime objects in a wide range of configuration: from cellular-based communication (SMS, GPRS), to UHF data transceivers, to AIS AtoN (VHF), to satellite two-way M2M communication (Iridium, Inmarsat).d
Shore
When stations are installed on land (e.g. lighthouses, land marks) NavSim control & monitoring solution will provide you with instantaneous information regarding object status, performance and any encountered problems. For communication you can use a wide variety of choices: from a UHF data transceiver module, to GSM/GSPRS/3G/LTE, to a VHF AtoN, to a satellite transceiver
Local
When monitored objects are floating on the water within 30-40 miles from the shore (e.g. buoys), you can stay informed about their status, performance and any unexpected turn of events immediately using our state-of-the-art Smart Buoy Monitoring System (SBMS-1v2). Possible solutions for communication include AtoN Type 1/3, GSM module and a satellite transceiver – whatever suits you best
Remote
Monitoring marine infrastructure in remote locations used to be a challenging task. Not anymore. Our latest satellite-based Smart Buoy Monitoring System delivers when other systems lag behind. Depending on your circumstances you can configure SBMS-1v2 to update you with the latest status and performance reports of monitored objects as frequently as required via satellite link
Automatic alert system
Our monitoring products are designed in a way to minimise needs for power. As a result, the average power consumption for the SBMS-v3.x microcontroller with AtoN Type 3 module is just 22mA (with performance updates at 10 minutes intervals; with wider intervals the power consumption would have been even smaller). Off-position. Whenever a buoy deviates from its nominal position, it will trigger an off-position alert. This alert is instantaneously delivered to the SBMS-v3.x monitoring software, designated e-mails and/or mobile phones to ensure an immediate reaction. Additionally, the AIS AtoN Msg21 is broadcasted to all vessels navigating in the area.
Battery voltage. When battery voltage decreases below (or increases above) a designated threshold level, an alert is triggered. Besides monitoring battery voltage, the SBMS-v3.x checks also working status of any charging equipment. This gives you full control over the power supply and usage and provides you will tool for accurate planning of any maintenance work.
Charging status. Modern aids to navigation are equipped with solar panels and/or wind power generators to charge their batteries. The SBMS-1v2 is monitoring whether the charging equipment is working appropriately. If not, it will send a dedicated alert to inform you about any malfunction.
Collision with a vessel. Occasionally, a buoy or some other type of aid to navigation is bumped by a passing vessel. Thanks to built-in inclinometer, the SBMS-1v2 microcontroller instantly informs the operator about any colliding vessel. On top of that, the monitoring software is registering AIS vessel traffic 24/7 which can be easily played back whenever needed
Unauthorised entry. Anytime somebody directly interferes with a monitored object an instant alert is sent to the operator informing him about any suspicious event.
Internal failure. The SBMS-v3.x has a built-in self-test feature. As a result, all unexpected errors and events are logged, reported and send on-shore for further processing and investigation.
